Shen Minyi

The woodcuts by Shen Minyi are mostly the landscape of the low reach of Yangtse River. Boats beside lake, old house and stone bridge, black tiles and white wall, window face to the river and migratory swallow, Taihu Lake's night scene and the fishing light, all these are from the real life, but also from artist's heart, all these are very normal, but we can find artist's exploitation and art pursuit.

Shen Minyi was born in 1941 at Suzhou city, he was engaged in creation of woodcuts and Chinese traditional paintings. Now he is member of Chinese Artists' Association, Chinese Printmakers' Association, National painter of first grade, Director of Wu Zuoren art museum, vice-secretary-general of Jiangsu Printmaker' Association, and vice-president of Suzhou Artists' Association. His artworks were shown in USA, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Yugoslavia, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and were collected by national and international museums.
