A Journey to the Mountain

As I was midst of very light sleep - in fact I was still wearing my clothes – when I heard some music. A musician, Who had just finished recording, was eager to listen to the results of his labor. He, not wishing to let others listen, turned down the volume and dimmed the lights of his room; however, I was still able to hear. To me, the music all at once sounded like the trickle of a mountain stream, the rustle of the wind through the trees, the sound of a small bird hovering in the forest and the patter of light rain on ones roof. I felt that I had been sent into the endless reaches of the universe. Not being able to contain myself any longer I walked to the source of the music, turned it up and brightened the room. The music playing was an amazingly popular song. As I looked around the room I noticed that the music was coming form an old cassette player on an old desk and up above the sky was full of stars like a wall filled with many holes.

Art is felt not understood.

Ones image of, and subject of art, is too often forced upon us and decided by other. Artists often use their art to obtain a motive, this I believe is not the nature of art. Art forever has suffered the limiting influences of culture and philosophy, even to this day they are fighting over their role in artistic development. I believe that someone should use their own interpretation of art in the same way they would food or other natural things around them.
