Hao Ping

Hao Ping is an artist using wood cutter and oil paint to think, in particular with concern on history and culture. His works somewhat vaguely demonstrate bitterness of philosophy, clarity of history, and a kind of cool, open-minded, and profound nuance. Through the dissociation and merge of Chinese society, fault and reconnection in culture, and then the impact of modern civilization without defense. Hao Ping , in the first woodcut exhibition after "culture revolution", has become gradually popular out of his sorrowful memory and inquiring type of self review. In addition, based on the unique sense of mission of a contemporary Chinese painter, he took the lead to seek for the echo of Chinese woodcut in the other side of the world. He started to walk over the spacious stage of the world from a small town named Taitzue of Mengla at the border of China and Vietnam. His personal fate induces a historical complex which determines the focus of art concern of Hao Ping, and also helps him to finally return woodcut, the ancient art with a tradition of about 1000years in China.

The Career of Hao Ping:

Hao Ping was born in Yunan in China.
In 1980 he graduated from the Department of Fine Art of Yunan Art College.
In 1986, he fulfilled studies at Central Fine Art College.
In 1990, Hao Ping became a member of the evaluation committee of the National Youth Print grand exhibition.
In 1992 he became jury member of another important print and painting exhibition committee.
Hao Ping is a member of different Chinese artist associations - the Chinese Fine Artist Association and the Chinese Print Artist Association.
