Huang Taihua

Familiar with the blackland of Bei-da-huang(big north barren of China), familiar with the prints from Bei-da-huang, so the first time when I saw the prints by Huang Taihua, I think they're ordinary as the other prints of this region. But later, I'm addictive by his artworks, and his feelings to this blackland as drinking.

Huang is a printmaker of Korea nationality and senior artist of Acheng city. He began his creation in 1969, most of them are landscape of small village of Bei-da-huang, full of living spice and country feeling. His prints have a strong contrastive colors, and symmetry, that's a normal artist can't reach.

Huang was born in 1947 at Acheng of Hei Longjiang province. He did his studies in the Printmaking department of Central Fine Arts Academy during 1984-1986. And now he is member of Chinese Artists Association, Chinese Printmakers Association, director of Hei Longjiang Artists Association, vice president of Artists Association of Ha Er Bin city, president of Acheng Print Academy, organizer and chairman of Acheng printmaking creation.

1969-1981 20 Prints like <Spring breeze>, <Mountain village> were elected to a provicial exhibition and were published on the magazines
1982 Print <Apple girls> was elected in the exhibition "The charm of North China" by Chinese Art Museum and was exhibited in 5 countries like Uganda, Senegalese.
1983 Print <Silent vale> as elected in the 8th National Print Exhibition
1985 Print <Cold way> as elected in the first National Physical Art Exhibition
1986 9 Prints like <Silence> were elected to <Acheng Print Exhibition> by Chinese Art Museum, and won the golden cup of the "Printmaking world" and medal of "Lu Xun Prints". Print <Snowy house> won the frist grade of National Korea Artist Exhibition.
1987 4 Prints like <Rut> were elected in <Chinese Prints 2000 Exhibition> of Kobe, Japan. Print <Silence> was elected in the exhibition of Chinese Art Museum's collection.
1989 Print <Red Wall> was elected in the 7th National Fine Arts Exhibition, and won the first grade of Hei Longjiang province.
1990 First solo exhibition at Hei Longjiang Art Museum
1991 Print <Quiet Autumn> was elected in the Chinese contemporary Prints, and attend the culture communication with Korea.
1992 Print <First month of Winter> won silver medal of the 11th National Print Exhibition, and this print was elected to the Chinese Modern Print Exhibition at Seoul. Print <Auspicious snow> was elected in the National Fine Arts Exhibition
1993 Print <Children of mountains> was elected in the National Print Category Exhibition, and the 5th Three Categories of Print Exhibition. <Trudge> won the third National Physical Art Exhibition. 5 Prints like <Flying> were elected in the Hei Longjiang Print Exhibition at Hong Kong.
1994 Print <Drunk> was elected in the 8th National Fine Arts Exhibition, and won the copper prize in the second National Minorities Fine Arts Exhibition in 1995. <Lucky Day> was elected in the 12th National Print Exhibition, and won prize at China-Korea Contemporary Print Exhibition in 1995.
1997 Print <Midwinter> won outstanding prize at provincial exhibition for celebrating the return of Hong Kong

Collection: more than 100 prints, such as <Silence>, <Snowy house>, <First month of Winter> and <Lucky day> were collected by Chinese Art Museum, Daioyutai State Guest House, Lott Art Gallery at Seoul etc.
